Along with Thyagaraja (1767-1847) and Shyama Shastri (1762-1827), Muthuswami Dikshitar (1776-1835), is one of the trinity of Carnatic music. Blessed by Lord Subrahmanya who gave him divine Darshanam astride his Emerald Peacock vahanam, Dikshitar expressed his deep Bhakthi through songs composed in a large number of well-known as well as rare ragas.
